Abstract: 

I will consider a large class of quasi-linear Schrödinger equations posed on the one dimensional torus. I will give the idea of the proof of almost global existence of solutions when the Cauchy data are small and smooth enough. The proof relies on normal forms and on the use of para-differential calculus. This is a joint work with Roberto Feola.
