Mathematics

Lidskii's theorem enables explicit formulation of determinants of trace class operators. I will elaborate on the proof of Lidskii's theorem and outline the Fredholm formula for integral operators. Moreover I will discuss the notion of regularized determinants for operators in the Hilbert—Schmidt class and other higher ideals of compact operators.
