The interest in studying stability properties of shear flows dates back to the origin of fluid dynamics. In recent years, this problem has received a renewed attention, in particular starting with the case of 2D incompressible Couette flow. In the seminar we will discuss about some stability property, more in the sense of Ljapunov, of the Couette flow where we revisit results on the linear case and we will address the main difficulties of the nonlinear one. In the end, I will briefly mention an ongoing work with P. Antonelli and P. Marcati.
