The course will provide a brief introduction to the theory of optimal control, existence, necessary and sufficient optimality conditions, focusing on analytical tools and some specific applications.
In particular: multifunctions and selection theorems, fixed point theorems, Ekeland's variational principle, viscosity solutions, transversality and generic theory. Time permitting, we shall cover applications to the control of mechanical systems by moving constraints, asymptotic stabilization by patchy feedbacks, and a class of first order mean field games.
