Abstract:

Zonoids are "convex bodies that are limits in the Hausdorff distance of a finite Minkowski sum of segments". In this talk, we will see what is a convex body, what is the Hausdorff distance, and what is the Minkowski sum. Then, I will explain how to multiply zonoids using the Fundamental Theorem of Zonoids Calculus. If time allows, we will see how this ring structure appears in probabilistic intersection theory.
