In this talk, I will present some recent results towards the understanding of regularity of stationary points for polyconvex energies. In particular, we see the system of PDEs arising from the stationarity as a differential inclusion and we disprove the existence of a particular class of matrices, $T_N$ configurations, in the differential inclusion. This work has been done in collaboration with C. De Lellis, G. De Philippis and B.Kirchheim. We then present an extension of this result that is part of a work in progress with J. Hirsch.
